Mason Farming had a great collaboration with Rakhshan and Ghenwa, who are both passionate about flavours and their love for food and wine. Their background is delved in exotic cuisine. 
Both Rakhshan and Ghenwa have used Mason Farming’s produce in their dishes in a much different manner. 
Rakhshan and Ghenwa were introduced to Mason Farming through the Hartenberg Wine Estate team.

Rakhshan Zhouleh

Rakhshan Zhouleh is a native Persian that can look back at an incredible, long-standing  career. He emigrated from Persia, where he was a professional soccer player, to Germany in1985.
After receiving his training as a specialist in the restaurant trade at the Hotel Intercontinental Dom in Cologne, where his ardour for wines was awakened, he completed a one-year traineeship with Franz Keller at the wine-growing estate “Schwarzer Adler” and an internship as a sommelier at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Koblenz. 
A sommelier is a trained and knowledgeable wine professional who specialises in all aspects of wine service, including wine and food pairing.
The restaurant “Francais” at the Steigenberger Hotel Frankfurter Hof in Frankfurt/Mainwas served as another stepping-stone in his career, including  “Ente von Lehel” at the Hotel Nassauer Hof in Wiesbaden and the famous “Haerlin” at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hamburg. The restaurant “Margaux” in Berlin, “Elblounge” in Hamburg, Parkhotel in Bremen, the restaurant “Vitrum” at the Hotel Ritz-Carlton in Berlin and the restaurant “Tantris” in Munich served as further milestones.
Rakhshan has received several awards. He has been awarded Sommelier of the Year by Meier Publishers in 2001, Gault Millau in 2002 and Berlin-Brandenburg in 2008. Furthermore, he has taken part in numerous national and international wine summits.
Thanks to his vast knowledge and experience of first class cuisine, he is a renowned advisor to national as well as international gastronomes and hoteliers, appears as a moderator in circles of wine enthusiasts and accompanies selected voyages.

Ghenwa Steingaszner

Ghenwa Steingaszner was born and raised in Lebanon. For 17 years she worked as an air hostess and supervisor for the Saudi Arabian Airlines and this included providing a high quality on-board culinary service for VIP flights. In 2003 she and her family emigrated to South Africa and settled permanently at Erinvale Golf Estate in Somerset West, Cape Town.
She was asked by the parents at her children’s school to share her cooking skills and that gave birth to Ghenwa’s Lebanese Cooking Club (food for the health conscious).
Since then, she has had many successful events, including cooking workshops, catering, selective participation in markets and festivals; food and wine pairing events with some of the Cape’s finest winemakers.

Ghenwa is an accomplished wine connoisseur and has been a member of the world renowned French-based culinary arts organisation “The Chaine des Rotisseurs” since 1990. In November 2014, Ghenwa was inducted as a professional chef.
